Over several months in 2018, the Board reviewed DOT’s proposed HAR Chapter 20.1, Commercial Services at Public Airports, that allowed Uber and Lyft drivers to operate at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. After hearing from the taxi cab drivers, the SBRRB agreed to allow DOT to assess whether to continue with the pilot program upon the adoption of the new rules so the Uber and Lyft drivers may have time to prepare and adjust to the rules.
